Stop Wrinkles Now! Start Eating Vegan
Is it me, or do you ever feel like wrinkles have a lot in common with Gremlins? Let’s be real here, they both seem to multiply with water. Ok, so I may be exaggerating just a tad. Regardless, I have spent a lot of money and time on exfoliating products and moisturizing products. My husband loves to give me a hard time about it. He will often ask me, “So what magic product did you find this week?”
I have some great news for all you “wrinkle-phobes” out there like me. Did you know that skin regenerates quickly when given the proper nutrition? That is one reason many people in America have poor skin. They are not feedingtheir bodies what they should be in order to look younger. There are foods that help you look younger and stop the formation of wrinkles. Anti-wrinkle, anti-aging ingredients in foods seem to be Vitamin C, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, zinc, iron, and resveratrol.
Chef Ayumi Hashimoto, of Nashville, Tenn., says that sugar in the bloodstream attaches to proteins to form harmful molecules called advanced glycation end products, or AGEs. Hashimoto said the more sugar you eat, the more AGEs you develop, and the more wrinkles you acquire. This could be bitter news for those with a sweet tooth. The 47-year-old chef said some people attribute her youthful looks to her Asian roots, but Hashimoto said: “It’s not just your genes, it’s both your genes and your lifestyle” that makes people look younger. Hashimoto shared her morning routine beginning with a drink of water each day. She said the body has been fasting for hours as the body sleeps and is dehydrated by morning. ”The first thing you should do is replenish your body,” she said. Hashimoto said she then continues her morning with up to one hour of stretching and exercise. She said people should exercise at least three times a week in order to maintain their fitness level, and women over 40 must work out one hour each day in order to maintain their weight.
The health expert also said facial exercises — such as rolling the eyeballs in all directions, opening the mouth as wide as it goes, and rotating your head by looking up and then down — help wake up the facial muscles and build their elasticity. Hashimoto also noted that positive facial expressions, such as smiling and laughing, make “happy facial muscles,” which make the face appear happier all the time as a result of muscle memory; people who frown often or do not smile, however, tend to look angry all the time. ”Laugh every day,” she instructed.
Hashimoto then listed some essential oils and home remedies to curb the effects of aging: Oatmeal is great for moisturizing, conditioning and itch relief; pure almond oil mixed with rosemary helps replenish moisture and natural oils that were removed after washing the face; frankincense oil is a known anti-aging remedy that is “particularly effective when mixed with myrrh oil”; and bathing your face in green tea after it cools is also a natural way to moisturize the skin. Hashimoto also recommends daily hot baths, a common practice in Japan, then rinsing with cold water. Or, the health guru said, try a “contrast shower,” switching from extremely hot water to cold water various times, then finishing with cold water. ”By doing this, you’re circulating the blood,” she said.
Many people from the Japanese city Okinawa practice the hot bath method. According to a study by National Geographic, Hashimoto said Okinawans are one of three cultures that are known to live the longest. She said the study linked their plant-based diets, close ties to family, connection with faith, healthy lifestyles that lack smoking and include exercise to longevity. She said the three cultures also do not include retirement, therefore they have “motivation” and “a reason to live.”
To conclude her morning routine, Hashimoto said she makes a high-nutrient fruit smoothie with a blender. She said, the fresh fruit juice contains vitamins A and C; the almonds contain vitamin E; walnuts and flax seed contain omega 3 fatty acids; and Brazilian nuts contain selenium, which is key in a healthy immune system, helps regulate thyroid function, and is an antioxidant. While Brazilian nuts seem expensive, Hashimoto said, a daily smoothie only requires two or three. Hashimoto said, the combination of healthier eating, regular exercise, and the application or natural products to the skin will help reduce the signs of aging and head to a longer, more enjoyable life.
